We are able to provide genetic testing. Counselling is offered by experts both before and after testing.
There are two types of test available. The first offers testing against BRCA1 and BRCA2 cancer genes, as well as 28 other cancer genes. These genes are associated with cancer of the breast, bowel, skin, pancreas, prostate and ovary.
The second test is more extensive. It covers the cancer genes mentioned in test one, but also includes genes associated with heart disease. It also tests for genes that might cause difficulties with certain medications used for treatment of pain, heart disease and mental health problems.
A more extensive screen covering 83 cancer associated genes including much rare cancers is available.
