CAN I STILL BE AN NHS PATIENT?

You can still be registered with an NHS GP but you cannot see a private GP who is also a GP at your NHS practice. You can though, see one of our GPs, who is not working at your NHS practice. A private GP cannot prescribe medication on an NHS prescription, but will give you a private prescription. If you pay for prescriptions on the NHS, you may find a private prescription cheaper for many medications, but more expensive for others. Blood tests and ECGs, performed by a Private GP must be paid for, whereas these are usually available free through your NHS GP.
